In the recent weeks, two movie theaters have closed in Boulder County, Colorado: the Regal Colony theater in Louisville and the Twin Peaks Mall Regency Cinema in Longmont. But no need to mourn for long, movie lovers…Cinebarre is opening in Louisville August 1st!
More than a movie theater, Cinebarre features a bar with local beers, wine and cocktails and a restaurant with menu items that you can order right from your movie seat. What’s fun is the tagline: Eat. Drink. Watch Movies. This Drinks-With-Films gal finds that very welcoming! It’s also good news for local filmmakers as the theater features a pre-show with short films and they’ll consider submissions from local talent! http://cinebarre.com/preshow
When I was living in San Francisco, I used to post film reviews paired with dining options at local restaurants on Pinterest, http://www.pinterest.com/jillcbrooke/dinner-and-a-movie/ because I believe films are meant to be discussed post-screening. Plus. I’m not a fan of popcorn for dinner! Did you know that most theaters make their money not from ticket sales, but mainly from concessions? That’s why they are forced to keep the prices so high for popcorn and soda!
Now we’ll get enjoy a burger or pizza or even, gasp…a salad! with our movie. There’s been one in Thorton for a few years but now Cinebarre is coming here. I’ll be going to the Grand Opening party on Friday, July 31st and if you want to check it out before it’s open to the public. I’m giving away two free party tickets (for you and a guest) for the first 2 people who click on this link:

I’ll be back with my review of the this new cinema next week!
See you at the movies!
